In solidifying its position in the UK market, Capital.com, the global retail trading juggernaut, has appointed Rupert Osborne as the new chief executive officer of its UK operations. This strategic decision marks a significant shift in the company’s approach to the region, signaling its commitment to delivering tailored solutions that resonate with local clients.
Osborne, a seasoned trading and sales professional with over 15 years of experience in the UK and US markets, joined Capital.com in June 2022. His ascent to the UK CEO role is a testament to his expertise and proven track record in the industry.
Before joining Capital.com, Osborne held pivotal roles at industry giants like IG, where he served as the Deputy Head of Dealing for FX and cryptocurrency products. His crowning achievement, however, came in 2017 when he was appointed as the CEO of IG US, successfully launching and gaining regulatory approval for the firm, propelling it to become a formidable competitor in the US FX market.
Capital.com’s decision to appoint a dedicated UK CEO reflects its broader strategy of sustainable growth and commitment to fostering strong local leadership across its regulated subsidiaries. Previously, the UK operations were overseen by the Group CEO, Kypros Zoumidou.
“By continuously enhancing our offering and forging strategic partnerships with like-minded innovators, we aim to deliver the best products and services to meet the exacting needs of our UK client base,” Osborne stated, outlining his vision for the UK operation.
Zoumidou expressed confidence in Osborne’s ability to steer the UK business forward while delivering top-notch service to local clients. “Rupert’s appointment reflects our dedication to staying at the forefront of our client’s diverse needs while driving growth in step with local market changes, regulations, and best practices,” he said.
Osborne’s appointment as UK CEO follows the recent addition of Tarik Chebib as the CEO of Capital.com’s new Middle East operations based in Dubai. With these regional CEO appointments, Capital.com aims to build strong local leadership teams empowered to drive growth and innovation in each market, while maintaining a global presence and reach.
As the trading world watches with bated breath, Capital.com’s strategic move to appoint Osborne as the UK CEO underscores the company’s commitment to delivering localized services and solutions tailored to the unique needs of its diverse client base worldwide.
